Annual Members’ Day 2018 – Saturday 29th September
With Members’ Day fast approaching this Saturday, we have put together all the information you will need to enjoy your day with The Flight next weekend. Please feel free to print this email and bring it with you on the day.
Gate opening time: 10am.
We are aware that some Members like to arrive early. If you do, please form an orderly queue starting at the gate at the entrance to the BBMF Visitor Centre on Dogdyke Road. Please be aware that there is no footpath on sections on this road and the ground is uneven. Car parks will be open from 8.30am.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, RAF Coningsby, Dogdyke Road, Lincolnshire. (Please DO NOT use the main entrance to the base and proceed along Dogdyke Road where you will be directed to the appropriate parking space).
On arrival into Coningsby village, please follow the brown signs for the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. DO NOT follow the signs for the main base at RAF Coningsby as you will not be allowed to enter the base this way.
Parking: (Car parks open at 8.30am) Please see map below
All cars will be directed to the appropriate car park on arrival. Please do not enter the BBMF Visitor Centre Car Park as this is reserved for disabled guests only. All other cars will be directed to the parking opposite the BBMF hangar by designated staff. There will be no parking in the field opposite the BBMF hangar this year and Members are asked not to park on the grass verge and concrete area alongside the BBMF fence line. This area will be kept clear during the day.
Disabled parking: (Car parks open at 8.30am) Please see map below
Disabled Members can park in the BBMF Visitors Centre. If you have reserved a disabled parking space, please ensure that you have your Blue Badge prominently displayed so we can direct you to the correct location. If you did not request a disabled parking permit with your tickets we may be unable to accommodate you in the designated parking area and you may have to park in the general car park. Please contact us at email@example.com if you require assistance prior to the day and we will do our best to help.

PLEASE NOTE: Mobility Scooters and electric wheelchairs are NOT permitted inside the BBMF hangar. You will be required to provide alternative arrangements for guests requiring a mobility aid or wheelchair. This is at the request of the RAF and outside of our control.
RAF Coningsby is an active RAF station and bag and property searches may be undertaken before access to the base is permitted. Please ensure that you have all bags available for searches.
You may use your camera whilst on the base. Mobile phones should be switched to ‘airplane mode’ at all times due to security restrictions in the hangar.
There will be toilet facilities and refreshment stands available on the day. There will also be a number of merchandise stands inside the hangar for you to purchase from. The LLA will also have our merchandise trailer outside the hangar for purchases and membership queries before the gates open if required.
Timetable for the day
The timetable of the day is as follows however, weather and serviceability of aircraft may affect the day. The LLA and BBMF cannot be held accountable for any changes to the programme on the day for events such as the weather. We appreciate your understanding on this and we hope that you enjoy your day.

IMPORTANT: If you do not have tickets for the day
We know that not all Members have been successful in getting tickets for this years event and that they may wish to view the flying display from outside the fence line. We would ask that anyone wishing to do this does so ONLY from the designated ‘Spotters Car Park’ on Dogdyke Road. People watching the display from unathorised areas such as ‘The Mound’ put the whole event at risk for everyone and the decision may be taken, if people are in this location, to stop flying altogether. We would ask that people respect this and refrain from watching in locations that may ruin the enjoyment of the day for those who have been lucky enough to get tickets for the event. Thank you
We look forward to welcoming you to The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on Saturday.
